Hello
Welcome to my world! Growing up, I was always bursting with creativity and imagination, constantly seeking new outlets for my energetic spirit. In high school, I balanced being an athlete and a drama enthusiast, developing a strong work ethic. This drive continued into my adult life, shaping my career. Dive into my story and discover the journey that has brought me here.
My Story
Derrian Brown is a multifaceted actor, director, and choreographer based in New York City. Known for his charismatic and energetic personality, Derrian has captivated audiences for over 15 years.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Derrian considers it his forever home. Though his career has taken him up and down the East Coast, he fondly recalls saying, "If it weren't for my career, I'd never have left Georgia! Let's just move Broadway to Atlanta!"

Derrian's love for performing began as early as the 3rd grade with mandatory school plays planting the seeds of his future career. Early performances in "Arsenic and Old Lace" and "Little Shop of Horrors" sparked his passion for storytelling. However, it was at 16, playing the Genie in "Aladdin" at a theater company in Atlanta, that he realized his lifelong ambition. Performing to a standing ovation from an audience of over 3,000 solidified his path.

In high school, Derrian lived the real-life Troy Bolton story by balancing being an athlete in Marching Band by day and being in the drama club by night, which is where he developed his determination and strong work ethic. He would at times run from the field to the theatre and back again when tech week and marching band competitions were scheduled for the same week. This hard work and dedication have shaped the fulfilling career he leads today.

Unlike most teenagers, Derrian had a clear vision of his future and a 10-year plan. Despite the twists and turns (including the challenges of COVID-19), he graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University at Buffalo with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a minor in dance. College was transformative, refining his skills and amplifying his talents under vocal coaches Zach Carr and Keith Ersing. He was also a founding member and later presided over Dreams Affirmed, a club for performers of color, advocating for underrepresented voices in the industry.

Always striving for more, Derrian discovered his love for choreographing and directing, thanks to opportunities provided by various companies early in his career. These experiences enriched his artistry and performance depth.

Now, Derrian has embraced the next phase of his career in New York City, working across all facets of the industry: stage acting, TV, film, directing, choreographing, modeling, voice-over, and commercial work. He remains excited and eager to continue his thriving career.
